Dare: write inspiring words on your mirror.

I like to keep a bible verse or inspiring quote on my mirror for a few weeks at a time.  whenever i come across something in my quiet time or maybe on Pinterest that really sticks out to me, i'll write it on my mirror.  this helps me feel inspired and optimistic, and it's a great way to memorize scripture!  if you don't have a mirror, you could always write it on paper and tape it to the wall or door or something.  hope you all have a fantastic week!

much love,
lynn

adventure fund // diy

today i was looking on pinterest and saw this cute little idea for an "adventure fund." i want to go on an adventure in europe my senior year, so i thought this was perfect.

what you will need:

step 1:
practice writing "adventure fund" or whatever you are putting on your jar on paper. trust me, you want to practice it.
the last picture is how i chose to write it.

step 2:
write "adventure fund" or whatever on the back of the mason jar so it's clear.
i put a flower in between adventure and fund because i thought it was cool looking.

there you have it! your very own adventure fund!
it's super easy and pretty quick!

have fun and be adventurous!

awkward lunch party

I made this video a long time ago, but as i was eating lunch today i remembered that i never posted it.  this is pretty much what i do during lunch when i'm home alone.  but before you watch it let me just clarify four things:
1. yes, i realize i'm awkward.
2. no, i can't play the piano.
3. yes, i realize i can't dance.
4. no, i don't eat fried chicken for lunch everyday.

how to: add your handwriting to photos

here is a little tutorial on how do add handwriting to photos using picmonkey.com // in other words this is for those of you who, like me, don't want to spend money on a tablet.

first write/draw on a blank piece of paper, then scan it to your computer & save it as a photo.

go to picmonkey.com > Edit a photo

Open > choose your photo

crop (if necessary) & click Exposure > Auto adjust

Save > add File name > Save photo

Now, open your background image

Textures > Your Own > Open my texture

Open the photo you just saved

Blend Mode > Multiply
You can experiment with different blend modes and adjust the fade however you like.

Save your photo!

here's another one i made // hopefully you understood all that!

have a great rest of your summer! (if there is any summer left)

much love,
lynn

FASA Camp

These past two weeks i've been at FASA (Fine Arts Summer Academy) and it is always the highlight of my summer.  basically, i stayed at a college and worked on my fine art (dance) and at the end of the two weeks everyone puts on a huge show.  this year, i had the incredible opportunity to dance on the Grand Ole Orpy stage!  it was so so so amazing.  the theater is gorgeous (backstage including) and not to mention enormous.    here are a few pictures from throughout the camp:

the dance ensemble!  i will really miss them ⤴
in our dressing room! ⤴
hashtag dorm life ⤴
starbucks was a necessity ⤴
my peeps ⤴

for your sake, i wont add any more pictures.  but seriously, if you have any musical talent, go visit fasa's website.  it's an experience you will never forget!
i hope you've had an amazing summer!

much love,
lynn

ps. you should listen to this video of my brother singing because he sounds a-ma-zing.

DIY Magazine Wall Art

so i'm FINALLY getting around to making a DIY post. this one is really simple and i'm pretty sure you already know how to do this and have seen it before, but i am making a post about it anyways.

supplies needed:

 step 1:
pick a magazine or magazines. preferably one you're not a big fan of.
 step 2:
find a page with a bunch of color on it.

 step 3:
rip the page out

 step 5:
draw the first letter in your word or quote. make it a bubble letter so it will be easier to cut out.
 step 6:
cut it out.
when cutting out the middle in "o's" d's" and "a's", use the tip of your scissors. be SUPER CAREFUL.

repeat steps 1-6 for the rest of your word or quote!

 tada!!

hope you guys try this out! i really like it! let me know if you do! tag me in a picture on instagram if you do with the hashtag #cotlmagazinediy
LOVE YOU
xoxo,
kaitlyn
